How do you evangelise and disciple?
"People won't care how much you know until they know how much you care."
In Zambian culture especially, spending time visiting with people in their villages allows a relationship to be established. Instead of just going into the village and telling them what they need, we listen to the people, live their lives alongside them, ask questions, and learn about who they are. Once the relationship has been built, it becomes the catalyst in which we are able to have fruitful conversations about Christ.
Evangelism:
When reaching out to a new village, we show the Jesus Film (in the local language) and follow up with a few days of ministry to cover some foundational truths. We then help people establish a church (if they want one) and follow up with them by sending teams into these villages to do walk-in evangelism which entails visiting people in their homes or fields and encouraging them in their walk with God.
Discipleship:
We have developed a topical index in the local language which allows people to explore the Bible (and key issues) for themselves, without the guidance of a teacher. Some of these “key issues” may be:
We also show new believers how they can do Bible studies as a church. We place a strong emphasis on leadership training and spiritual mentorship.

We have developed a topical index in the local language which allows people to explore the Bible (and key issues) for themselves, without the guidance of a teacher. Some of these “key issues” may be:
- Christianity and traditional beliefs (i.e. visiting the “sangoma” – witch doctor)
- Plural marriage
- Who the Holy Spirit is and how He speaks
- What to do if someone curses me
- How exactly does God guide us?
- When and how often should we speak to God?
- What is fasting?
- God’s promises
We also show new believers how they can do Bible studies as a church. We place a strong emphasis on leadership training and spiritual mentorship.
